The year 2017 is coming to a close and I am now making plans to see places in 2018. The beginning of 2017 for me was very exciting. From January to April, I visited four different countries, seeing new places and revisiting familiar ones. It was the most I have traveled in my life and I love every bit of it. But then I quickly realized I was traveling too often and my travel fund quickly started running out with the expense I had in four months. So for the summer, I decided to travel locally, I mean within my home state of California to see what I have not seen before and also to stretch the remainder of my travel fund further. Later this year, I decided to go back to work to add to the travel fund for future adventures.
With this I realized that I may have been over zealous in the beginning of the year by traveling frequently because I had readily available funds. But it quickly disappeared which led me to make a quick decision to stay local.
But I still plan to travel, to get on a plane and seek new adventures. For 2018, I want to do it a bit differently and hopefully better. Since once again, I have a full-time job and only a few days of vacation time, I will need to plan my trips wisely and accordingly. In as much as I love to travel, I also have a book (a second book) I am working on and it certainly requires my attention. So for 2018, I have a list of places I would like to go, some familiar and others are new. I hope to return to Asia and Europe again and visit more of the United States and if I’m lucky, I may be able to do a quick trip to Canada to see some old friends. I hope to do all these for 2018, here’s hoping. Happy New Year and happy travels!
